In an effort to enhance public participation in national events, around 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, on January 26, according to a press release by the Ministry of Defence on Thursday.

These guests, celebrated as the “architects of Swarnim Bharat,” come from diverse backgrounds and are recognized for their remarkable contributions to various government schemes.

The invitees include sarpanches from top-performing villages, disaster relief workers, water warriors, handloom and handicraft artisans, SHG members, ASHA workers, among others. For the first time, participants from areas such as disaster relief, environmental conservation, renewable energy, and wildlife preservation are being honoured.

Additionally, notable sports achievers, including members of the Paralympic contingent, international sports medalists, patent holders, and top start-up founders, will be present. School children excelling in national competitions, such as the All India School Band and Veer Gatha, will also join the celebrations as special guests.

Apart from attending the Republic Day Parade, these guests will visit key landmarks in Delhi, including the National War Memorial and PM Sangrahalay. They will also get the opportunity to interact with government ministers.
