38th meeting of Central Advisory Board of Archaeology to be held in New Delhi

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will convene the 38th meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology (CABA) on Wednesday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event is being organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture.

Established in 1945 by the Government of India, the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology serves as a crucial platform to foster collaboration between the ASI, Indian universities, academic institutions, and State Governments for promoting archaeological research across the country.

As per official protocol, the Board is reconstituted every three years through a Gazette notification, following the approval of the Minister of Culture. The current Minister of Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, also serves as the Chairman of the CABA.

The upcoming meeting will review and deliberate on the resolutions and suggestions submitted by Advisory Board members, as well as the actions taken on the recommendations made during the previous (37th) meeting, which was held on June 14, 2022, under the chairpersonship of then Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy.
