Abu Dhabi is hosting the Global AI Show 2025, held under the theme “AI: 2031 – Accelerating Intelligent Futures.” The event brings together technology leaders, researchers, policymakers and major industry players, as the region strengthens its profile as a centre for digital transformation and smart innovation.
Speakers examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping global innovation. With new, accessible coding tools, even those without technical backgrounds can now create applications, allowing ideas to emerge from anywhere. Traditional development models were described as outdated, and experts noted that the region now has the capital, talent and education needed to push forward its innovation goals. There is growing confidence that the next two years could see unprecedented global-scale innovation emerging from West Asia.
The discussions also focused on the region’s investment climate. Access to venture capital has played a central role in building a more mature technology ecosystem, supported by the development of secondary markets, IPO platforms and a capital structure that connects angels, venture capital, private equity and public markets.
The show features leading voices from across the AI landscape, including specialists in machine learning, robotics, quantum computing, generative AI and ethical AI. The programme is built around six key pillars, ranging from regulatory frameworks and healthcare transformation to decentralised finance, climate intelligence, autonomous defence technologies and the future of work.
Another major theme was the competitiveness of West Asian companies on the global stage. Government initiatives, including long-term residency and golden visas, were highlighted for attracting high-skilled talent and strengthening the innovation ecosystem. There is also growing momentum in commercialising university-led research.
The 2025 edition of the Global AI Show builds on strategic partnerships with major government entities, reinforcing its role as a platform of national and international importance. Supported by the National Program of Artificial Intelligence and the Cyber Security Council, the event reflects a shared commitment to building ethical, scalable and inclusive AI systems aligned with long-term national visions.
