Adani Group to invest Rs 3,500 crore in Madhya Pradesh for cement and propellant units

The Adani Group is set to invest Rs 3,500 crore in Madhya Pradesh with the establishment of two major production units. Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited, announced the company’s plan to build a 2 million tonne per annum cement grinding unit in Guna. Additionally, the group will develop a cutting-edge propellant production facility in Shivpuri, which aligns with India’s mission to become a self-reliant defence exporter.

These projects are expected to generate over 3,500 direct and indirect jobs. The announcement was made by Karan Adani during the 2024 Regional Industrial Conclave in Gwalior, attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

Karan Adani remarked on India’s rapid progress, noting that state leaders like Dr. Mohan Yadav have been instrumental in driving Madhya Pradesh’s economic growth. The Adani Group has already invested approximately Rs 18,250 crore in the state, creating 12,000 jobs across various sectors including cement, defence, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

Speaking about Gwalior, Karan Adani highlighted the city’s emergence as a tourism destination, a talent hub, and a key transportation and trade center, which are attracting diverse investments. The Adani Defence facility in Gwalior, the largest small arms plant in India, has established Madhya Pradesh as a global hub for small arms manufacturing.

Furthermore, the Adani Foundation will set up a jacket production center in Badarwas, fully operated by women. Through its initiatives in healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods, and women’s empowerment, the foundation has positively impacted 80,000 households and improved the lives of 300,000 people across Madhya Pradesh.
