Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr are considering promoting Cristiano Ronaldo’s son to the senior squad, potentially setting up a father-son pairing next season, media reports said.
According to Al Weeam, cited by Goal.com, the 15-year-old forward has impressed in the club’s youth system and could be included in the first-team setup ahead of the next campaign.
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has previously trained in youth academies at Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United, following his father’s career path before moving to Saudi Arabia.
A promotion at 15 would mark a significant step up to senior football, reflecting confidence in his development.
Ronaldo, 41, remains a key figure for Al Nassr and has previously spoken about his desire to play alongside his son. The club is expected to assess the youngster’s readiness at the end of the season before taking a final decision.
Goal.com, citing The Sun, reported that Ronaldo Jr scored 58 goals in 23 matches for Juventus’ under-9 side and has continued his scoring form in Saudi Arabia, with 56 goals in 27 games for Al Nassr’s under-15 team.
A move to the senior squad would represent a major leap given the physical demands of top-level football.
Ronaldo moved closer to the 1,000-goal milestone with his 969th career goal, scoring in Al Nassr’s 4-0 win over Al Wasl in the quarter-finals to secure a place in the AFC Champions League Two semi-finals.
