Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to spearhead the “Anti-Terror Conference 2024” on Thursday, emphasizing a coordinated, “whole of government” approach to combat terrorism. Hosted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the two-day event aims to foster synergies across various government sectors to strengthen India’s counter-terrorism policies and strategies.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) highlighted that the conference will bring together senior police officials, officers from central agencies, and experts from fields including law, forensics, and technology. Key topics include enhancing legal frameworks for counter-terrorism, tackling prosecution challenges, and exploring the role of emerging technologies. Discussions will also focus on international legal cooperation and strategies to dismantle terror networks across India.

“The ‘Anti-Terror Conference 2024’ is centered on establishing channels for coordinated action against terrorism in the spirit of a ‘whole of government’ approach,” the MHA said, underlining the conference’s role in shaping future policy direction. Attendees will share insights, best practices, and discuss challenges related to counter-terrorism investigations and emerging technologies.

Participants will include senior police officers from states and Union Territories, as well as central agency officials and domain experts from law, forensics, and technology sectors. According to the MHA, this annual conference has become a crucial platform for operational forces, legal experts, and technical specialists to collaborate on national security issues and evolving terrorist threats.
