Earlier, Balraj Panwar out on a bronze medal in the men’s single sculls final after finishing fourth with a time of 6:54.80.

At the halfway stage, Balraj was in the silver medal position, behind Zhiwei Deng of China. However, the gap between Balraj and Uzbekistan’s Shakhboz Kholmurzaev was not a big one; unfortunately, the Uzbek rower moved ahead of the Indian with 500m to go and Balraj finished outside the podium.
