Ayush Ministry joins national women’s health campaign starting Sep 17

The Ministry of Ayush will participate in the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, a national women’s health campaign to be launched by the Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, September 17, the government said on Sunday.

In collaboration with State and Union Territory administrations, Ayush research and educational institutions, industries, NGOs, associations, and cooperative societies, the ministry will organise activities focusing on women’s health promotion and screening for various ailments.

Home remedies and nutrition kits will be distributed, while the benefits of medicinal plants and herbal teas for women’s well-being will be highlighted through awareness drives, the healthy ministry said in statement.

The campaign will also address corporate burnout through Ayurveda-based wellness programmes and Yoga-inspired mindfulness practices.

According to the ministry, the 16-day campaign will feature health check-ups and screening camps for non-communicable diseases, cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease, along with maternal and child healthcare services, nutrition and hygiene awareness programmes, and a voluntary blood donation drive.

Treatment through Ayush systems for anaemia, NCDs and Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) will be another area of focus. Dedicated kiosks for lifestyle counselling, yoga sessions, and “Prakriti Pareekshan” will also be part of the initiative.

States and Union Territories will hold awareness camps in schools, radio and television programmes, and social media campaigns to expand outreach. At the Panchayat level, Self-Help Groups will organise rallies and pledge-taking events to mobilise communities.

The campaign will cover women’s healthcare comprehensively—from pregnancy to palliative care—with daily Ayush health tips on topics such as anaemia-free women, maternal fitness, stress management, herbal nutrition, and bone health shared on social media to help women address health concerns effectively.
