Bangladesh wins SAFF Women’s Championship 2024 with 2-1 victory over Nepal

Bangladesh clinched the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship title for the second time, defeating Nepal 2-1 in a thrilling final at Kathmandu’s Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday.

In a hard-fought contest, Monika Chakma and Ritu Porna Chakma scored crucial second-half goals to secure Bangladesh’s victory. Nepal found the net once but failed to equalize, with Bangladesh’s defense standing firm and executing strategic plays effectively.

Bangladesh’s journey to the final began with a 1-1 draw against Pakistan, followed by a stunning 3-1 win over five-time champions India, placing them at the top of their group.
