Barca Legends returning to India for face-off against Real Madrid Leyendas on April 6

One of football’s greatest rivalries is set to make history on Indian soil for the first time, as the legends of Real Madrid and Barcelona prepare to clash in the highly anticipated ‘Legends Faceoff.’ This iconic match will take place at Navi Mumbai’s 55,000-capacity DY Patil Stadium on April 6, with kick-off scheduled for 7 PM IST.

Fans can expect to see footballing greats such as Luis Figo, Fernando Morientes, and Rivaldo, among others, as more legendary names are set to be revealed soon.

This isn’t the first time the Barca Legends have graced Indian turf. In 2018, they played in Kolkata against a team of Mohun Bagan veterans, dominating with a 6-0 victory.

With over 40 million La Liga fans, India is becoming a major force in global football. From record-breaking viewership to some of the largest digital football communities, Indian fans are reshaping the sport’s global audience.

Now, as Real Madrid Legends and Barcelona Legends face off, India is set to take center stage in the world of football, ushering in a new era of international sporting events in the country.

The rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona extends far beyond the pitch, representing a clash of legacies and philosophies that dates back to 1902. Icons like Di Stefano, Cruyff, Messi, and Ronaldo have defined this rivalry over the decades. For the first time, Indian fans will witness this legendary showdown live.

Such is the global impact of this rivalry that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has acknowledged the immense fan following of both Real Madrid and Barcelona in India.

John Zaidi, CEO & Co-founder of The Sports Front, highlighted the significance of this event, stating, “Indian football fans have always shown immense passion for the game. This event goes beyond football – it’s about showcasing India as a key player on the global sports stage.”

Anirudh Poddar, COO & CFO of The Sports Front, echoed this sentiment, saying, “Real Madrid vs Barcelona is one of football’s most iconic spectacles. Our vision is to position India as a destination for premier global sporting events, and this match is a monumental step toward that goal.”

Fans can now register for early access to tickets via the District app by Zomato, with the official ticket launch date to be announced soon.
