Best performers of tourism industry from South Asia wins awards in 8th edition of SATA awards in Kathmandu

Kathmandu hosted the prestigious 8th edition of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) today, bringing together regional tourism authorities and industry leaders from across South Asia. This marked the first time the event was held in Nepal, providing the country an opportunity to showcase its growing excellence in tourism.

The awards celebrated outstanding performers in the tourism industry across South Asia, with winners competing in Silver and Gold categories across various sectors. These included awards for Best Resort, Best Beach Resort, Best Hilltop Hotel, Leading Eco-Friendly Resort, Best Services, Leading International Airline, Best Destination Promotion, and more. Tourism stakeholders from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, and Nepal attended the gala event, using the platform for valuable business-to-business interactions and sharing best practices.

Nepal’s Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, praised the significance of the awards, stating that such recognition promotes excellence in tourism, enhances travel experiences for millions, and encourages innovation within the industry.
