India is set to host the third edition of Bharat Tex 2026, billed as the world’s largest global textile event, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from July 14 to 17, bringing together the country’s entire textile value chain along with international buyers, investors, policymakers and industry leaders.
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh will inaugurate the four-day event on Tuesday. Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita, Textiles Secretary Neelam Shami Rao, senior government officials, foreign delegates and industry representatives will also attend the opening ceremony.
Organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils and industry bodies, with support from the Ministry of Textiles, the event aims to position India as a global hub for textiles, fashion, sustainability, innovation and investment.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F vision — Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign — Bharat Tex has evolved into a key platform for business, policy dialogue, sourcing, investment and strategic partnerships across the textile value chain.
The organisers expect participation from more than 7,000 buyers, over 1.3 lakh trade visitors and 1,600 exhibitors showcasing more than 20,000 products across 1.6 million square feet of exhibition space. Exhibitors will represent the entire textile ecosystem, including fibre, yarn, fabrics, apparel, home textiles, technical textiles and ancillary industries.
International exhibitors from 14 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, New Zealand, South Africa and Nepal, are expected to participate, alongside representatives from the United Nations and the European Union.
The event is expected to facilitate more than 4,000 curated business-to-business (B2B) meetings, over 100 business-to-government (B2G) meetings and the signing of more than 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering trade, investment, technology, sustainability and market access.
Eight states — Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu — are participating as partner states, while Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Rajasthan and West Bengal will showcase their textile capabilities as exhibiting states.
Dedicated State Investor Connect sessions will highlight investment opportunities, industrial infrastructure, PM MITRA textile parks and policy initiatives, aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Centre, states and industry.
Bharat Tex 2026 will also host more than 100 knowledge sessions, including panel discussions, roundtables, masterclasses and state-specific sessions on themes such as sustainability, Industry 5.0, technical textiles, innovation, global sourcing, trade policy and export competitiveness, with a focus on supporting MSMEs.
The event will feature over 350 speakers from more than 20 countries, including policymakers, industry leaders, global experts and business executives. Ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Cambodia and Brunei, along with business delegations from countries including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, the UAE, Thailand and Bangladesh, are expected to participate.
Special bilateral engagements are scheduled around the India-US cotton partnership, the India-New Zealand wool ecosystem, implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, textile cooperation with Japan and discussions with Russian industry representatives.
As part of the event, the CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026 will recognise excellence in resource efficiency, energy conservation, circular economy, sustainable materials, social responsibility, responsible business practices and industry collaboration.
To enhance business networking, Bharat Tex 2026 will use a dedicated mobile application and digital business platform featuring AI-assisted support, exhibitor discovery, buyer-seller matchmaking, meeting scheduling, QR-based lead capture and digital badge access.
The event is expected to strengthen India’s position as a trusted global textile sourcing destination while promoting sustainable and resilient textile value chains through enhanced trade, investment and international collaboration.
