Blinkit introduces quick ambulance service in Gurugram

Blinkit has launched a new initiative to provide ambulance services within 10 minutes, expanding its range of services beyond daily essentials, food, and personal care products. The service began in Gurugram with five ambulances and was announced by Blinkit’s Founder and CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, through a post on X.

The new offering aims to address the challenge of providing reliable ambulance services in urban areas. Users will soon be able to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance directly through the Blinkit app as the service expands to more cities.

According to Dhindsa, each ambulance is equipped with necessary medical equipment such as oxygen cylinders, an automated external defibrillator (AED), a stretcher, a monitor, a suction machine, and emergency medicines. Each ambulance team includes a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure effective service.

Dhindsa clarified that the initiative is not profit-driven. The service will be available at an affordable cost, and the company plans to invest in expanding it to all major cities over the next two years.

The CEO also urged people to prioritize giving way to ambulances on the road. Blinkit’s foray into quick-response ambulance services comes as rapid delivery platforms continue to diversify their offerings in response to changing consumer needs and societal demands.
