Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed grief over the loss of lives following a boat capsizing incident in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, calling the tragedy deeply painful.
The PM conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured, while noting that the local administration is providing assistance to the affected.
The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased, and Rs 50,000 for those injured.
In a post on X, PM Modi reiterated his condolences and assured support to the victims’ families in the wake of the mishap.
