Border residents extended full support to Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor: Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that people living in border areas extended complete support to the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor, reflecting that national security is the responsibility of every citizen.

Speaking after inaugurating a Defence & Sports Academy in Jodhpur, he said the country can face any challenge and emerge stronger if citizens, especially the youth, remain aware and dedicated towards their duties.

The Defence Minister commended the zeal and determination shown by the youth during Operation Sindoor. He recalled that the Armed Forces gave a firm response to the terror attack in Pahalgam and achieved their objectives with precision. Singh said while terrorists targeted innocents on the basis of religion, the Armed Forces acted against those who sheltered them on the basis of their actions. He described the operation as the identity of New India.

Highlighting the role of the new academy, the Defence Minister said the amalgamation of defence, education and sports is crucial for building a secure and strong nation. He noted that perseverance, discipline, patience and determination are qualities that benefit both soldiers and sportspersons, and added that students emerging from such an environment can bring pride to the country at national and international levels.

Singh praised the contribution of Rajasthan’s soldiers in safeguarding the nation but pointed out that the number of officers from the state remains comparatively lower than jawans. He urged the youth to join the Armed Forces as officers and strengthen national security.
