CDS General Anil Chauhan embarks on official Visit to France

India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, is set to bolster defence ties with France during his official visit to the European nation. This visit aims to strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

Scheduled to engage with key figures in both civil and military leadership in France, General Chauhan will meet with his counterpart, French Chief of Defence Staff (CEMA) General Thierry Burkhard. Additionally, he will hold discussions with the Director of the National Institute for Higher Defence Studies (IHEDN) and the Director General of Armament.

General Anil Chauhan’s itinerary includes visits to significant military installations such as the French Space Command and the Land Forces Command. He will also address student officers at the prestigious Ecole Militaire, providing insights and fostering exchange on military matters.

CDS will engage with renowned defence industries in France, including Safran Group, Naval Group, and Dassault Aviation, aiming to explore avenues for collaboration and technological exchange.

He will pay tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. He will visit memorials such as the Neuve-Chappelle Memorial and the Indian Memorial at Villers-Guislain, laying wreaths in their honor as a mark of respect and remembrance.
