The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) organised a ten-day induction programme for newly recruited scientists from May 4 to 13 at the CSIR-Human Resource Development Centre, bringing together 41 young scientists from various CSIR laboratories across the country.
The programme was aimed at providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of CSIR’s scientific, administrative, and collaborative ecosystem while equipping them with technical expertise and behavioural competencies essential for scientific leadership.
The inaugural session featured ceremonial lamp lighting by Bhaskar Narayan, Ch. Ravi Shekhar and T. S. Rana, symbolising the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation.
Throughout the programme, participants attended expert lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on learning sessions conducted by eminent scientists and senior officials from CSIR and other organisations. Key areas covered included global science and technology collaborations, technology transfer, commercialisation of research, innovation-driven scientific thinking, leadership development, and creative problem-solving.
The programme also encouraged networking and collaboration among scientists from different laboratories, fostering multidisciplinary research and professional growth.
The valedictory function on Wednesday was attended by Manoj Kumar Dhar, who encouraged the newly recruited scientists to contribute towards impactful scientific research and innovation. He also stressed stronger collaboration between CSIR laboratories and the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) to achieve greater academic and research excellence.
The programme was coordinated by Shobhna Choudhary and Preeti Chaudhary. CSIR said the successful completion of the programme reflects its continued commitment towards nurturing the next generation of scientists and strengthening India’s scientific and innovation ecosystem through capacity building, leadership development, and collaborative research culture.
