In preparation for upcoming Independence Day celebrations, the Delhi Police has intensified security measures across the national capital. As part of this effort, authorities have posted images of terrorists linked to Al-Qaeda and Khalistan groups throughout the city.
The police are actively seeking public assistance in locating these individuals, offering rewards for any information leading to their capture. To protect informants, the police have assured that their identities will remain confidential.
Sub-inspector Komal Shakya, officer-in-charge of the Khan Market all-women police booth, explained that this initiative aims to raise public awareness and aid in tracking potential threats. The posters feature fifteen terrorists, six of whom are associated with Al-Qaeda.
This heightened security stance extends beyond Delhi. In Punjab, police conducted thorough spot searches at bus stands across the state on Tuesday. The operation, overseen by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, involved police teams and sniffer dogs inspecting passengers at all 28 police districts from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Special Director General of Police Arpit Shukla, who monitored the state-level operation, stated that senior officers were instructed to ensure proper cordoning and thorough searches at all bus stands under their jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the Delhi police have also busted the illegal sale of Chinese Manjha in the national capital ahead of Independence Day. On Monday, the police seized a huge amount of Chinese manjha from a house at Fayaz Ganj in the Azad Market area. One person was arrested during the raid.
