Delhi polls: PM Modi interacts with students, accuses AAP govt of prioritizing its image over youth’s future

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Monday, accusing it of prioritizing its image over the future of students. During an interaction with students in the national capital, PM Modi said that the Delhi government’s approach to education is designed to safeguard its reputation rather than genuinely support students.

PM Modi claimed that the AAP government permits only those students who secure good marks in class 9 to continue their education, in an attempt to avoid bad results that could tarnish the government’s image. “I have heard that in Delhi, they (AAP government) do not allow children to go further after class 9 unless they are guaranteed to pass. This is to protect their reputation in case the results are bad. It is a dishonest practice,” the Prime Minister said.

On Sunday, while addressing a public rally in New Delhi’s RK Puram, PM Modi expressed optimism about the future of Delhi, promising a “new spring of development” once the BJP forms the government. “In a few days, a new spring of development will arrive in Delhi. This time, the BJP government is about to form in Delhi. The AAP party has wasted 11 years. My biggest request is that we should be given a chance to serve the people of Delhi,” he said. Modi added that the BJP would introduce a “double-engine government” that would work to improve the lives of the poor and middle-class families.

The Prime Minister also unveiled a series of welfare promises for Delhi’s residents, including providing Rs 5 nutritious meals to people living in slums and establishing a welfare board for auto drivers and domestic workers. He assured that no existing welfare schemes would be discontinued under a BJP-led government. “A welfare board will be set up for auto drivers and domestic workers, providing them with insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh. The BJP government will also assist with children’s school fees,” he said.

PM Modi further dismissed allegations from the AAP camp, asserting that no slum in Delhi would be demolished under a BJP government. “Not a single slum in Delhi will be demolished. The welfare schemes for the public will not be stopped,” he emphasized.

Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5 and vote counting set for February 8.
