Devotees offer sacrifices at goddess shrines across Nepal on Navami

On the occasion of Navami, devotees have gathered in large numbers at goddess shrines across Nepal to offer worship and homage during the Bada Dashain festival. Many believe that worshipping the goddess Navadurga during Dashain helps fulfill their wishes.

In the Kathmandu Valley, popular temples like Guhyeshwari, Bhubaneshwari, Vatsaleshwori, and Jaya Bageshwari in the Pashupati area, along with Maitidevi, Kalikasthan, Bhadrakali, Sankata, and several others, have seen a high turnout of devotees since early morning.

Temples outside the valley, including Nala Bhagawati, Chandeshwari, Palanchowk Bhagawati, Kamalamai, Pathibhara, and Manakamana, among others, have also welcomed numerous visitors. Many devotees follow the tradition of offering lambs, he-goats, and cocks as sacrifices according to their wishes on this auspicious day of Navami.
