Dharmendra Pradhan, Singapore PM discuss strengthening educational ties

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday met with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to explore ways to enhance cooperation in school education, vocational training, and research.

The talks focused on three key pillars: ‘Talent, Resource, and Market.’ Pradhan emphasized Singapore’s role as a trusted knowledge partner in advancing deep tech, startups, and innovation ecosystems.

In a post on X, Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PM Wong have established a framework to strengthen India-Singapore ties in emerging areas.

Pradhan also met Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to further expand the India-Singapore Knowledge Partnership in education.

The education minister’s visit to Singapore is part of a week-long tour to strengthen educational ties with Singapore and Australia.

As part of his agenda in Singapore, Pradhan visited the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he met with President Professor Tan Eng Chye to explore research collaborations between NUS and top Indian higher education institutions (HEIs) in areas such as medical technology, startups, and digitalization.
