Draft white paper on AYUSH mind-body interventions discussed at Dubai Conference

A draft white paper on evidence-based mind and body wellness interventions is under discussion at the 3rd International AYUSH Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Dubai, where policymakers, researchers and practitioners are deliberating on strengthening the scientific validation and global integration of traditional systems such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.

The International Delegate Assembly(IDA) Committee is a key governing body for the 11th International Delegate Assembly, held as part of the 3rd International AYUSH Conference & Exhibition has undertaken three key initiatives this year to advance the global integration of AYUSH. The first is the development of the white paper titled “AYUSH Interventions for Mind and Body Health”, a structured, multidisciplinary and evidence-informed document outlining AYUSH contributions to mind–body health and proposing research priorities, best practices and regulatory pathways. The second initiative comprises panel deliberations examining AYUSH frameworks for sustainable global health systems, interventions for mental well-being, perspectives on the happiness index, integrative best practices, lifestyle disorders, and key domains such as policy, education and capacity building. These discussions are aimed at shaping future direction and defining actionable next steps.

The third initiative is a global practitioners’ survey of AYUSH, conducted with appropriate ethical approval, to capture practice patterns, real-world challenges and emerging opportunities across diverse geographies. The findings are expected to inform policy development, curriculum design and capacity-building efforts, ensuring that future strategies remain grounded in frontline experience.

Organisers said the proposed white paper would contribute to informed global health policymaking while supporting wider adoption of AYUSH-based approaches to address stress, mental health concerns and lifestyle-related disorders. The conference is organised by Science India Forum UAE in collaboration with the World Ayurveda Foundation, under the patronage of India’s Ministry of AYUSH and the Consulate General of India in Dubai, and will run till February 17th.
