Droupadi Murmu Calls for Unity and Trust at State-Level Launch of ‘Golden Era of Maharashtra’

The President of India Droupadi Murmu, graced the state-level launch of ‘Golden Era of Maharashtra through Unity and Trust’, organised by Brahma Kumaris at Vishwa Shanti Sarovar, Nagpur, Maharashtra on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, the President said that Maharashtra has consistently set examples of social, economic, cultural and spiritual development in the country. She noted that this sacred land has been the birthplace of powerful ideologies and ideals of nation-building that instilled a new consciousness among the people of India. She recalled the thoughts, struggles and contributions of great icons such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Vasudev Balwant Phadke, Maharishi Dhondo Karve, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and B. R. Ambedkar, stating that their legacy has empowered the nation.

The President said that Maharashtra continues to strengthen India’s developmental journey through its strengths in industry, agriculture, entrepreneurship, innovation, higher education and invaluable cultural traditions. Emphasising holistic development that benefits every citizen, she said determined efforts are needed to build a stronger and more prosperous Maharashtra and India by drawing inspiration from history while harnessing modern technology, skill development and innovation. She expressed confidence that the Brahma Kumaris’ initiative ‘Golden Era of Maharashtra through Unity and Trust’ would inspire people to develop inner strength, leadership spirit and work towards value-based development.

Highlighting the importance of spirituality, the President said it makes people aware of human values and duties. She noted that harmony, ethical behaviour, positive thinking and social responsibility together strengthen society, and when such values become part of daily life, trust is naturally established, promoting positivity.

The President said that unity and trust are the foundations of a strong nation. When mutual trust grows in society, she said, people rise above personal interests and work together to achieve common goals. Every citizen, she added, can effectively contribute to nation-building by promoting equality, eradicating discrimination and participating in community service.

The President further said that India will be truly developed only when everyone has equal opportunities to grow, technology becomes a vehicle for development and the benefits of progress reach all sections of society. She appreciated the Brahma Kumaris for the initiative and expressed confidence that their efforts would strengthen unity and trust in society.
