Dubai is the highest-ranked city in the Middle East and Africa on the ‘2024 Global City Index’ by Brand Finance, leading the region for the second consecutive year. Globally, Dubai also rose to fifth place, surpassing global powerhouses like Singapore, Los Angeles, Sydney, San Francisco, and Amsterdam.
The report praised Dubai’s global reputation, ranking it first ahead of Sydney and London. The city made a notable leap in local and remote work opportunities, moving from 24th to 4th place. Dubai was also recognized as the second-most significant city globally due to its strategic role as an international trade hub and its strong economy.
Scoring 86 out of 100, Dubai’s comprehensive performance across key indicators highlights its economic resilience and strategic vision. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, attributed this success to the foresight of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that these achievements align with the Dubai Plan 2030, aimed at enhancing the emirate’s global competitiveness.
Dubai’s favorable corporate tax policies and future-focused initiatives have reinforced its status as a premier investment destination. The emirate’s excellence in education, connectivity, and accessible visa policies also contribute to its attractiveness, cementing its leadership in the Middle East and North Africa.
