External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is set to represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States.
The ceremony, organised by the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, will take place in Washington D.C, on January 20.
During his visit, the foreign minister is expected to engage with key members of the incoming U.S. administration and hold discussions with dignitaries from other nations attending the event.
Trump will assume office as the President of the United States, with the oath of office being administered by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts at noon (Eastern Time) on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
The swearing-in of Vice President-elect JD Vance is scheduled before Donald Trump’s event.
