ECI launches ‘Myth vs Reality Register’ to combat misinformation during general elections 2024

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday launched a new initiative aimed at combating the spread of misinformation surrounding the electoral process and the upcoming general elections.

The ‘Myth vs Reality Register’, accessible via the Election Commission’s website at https://mythvsreality.eci.gov.in, will serve as a reliable resource to differentiate between facts and falsehoods, ensuring that voters have access to accurate and verified information throughout the electoral process, the ECI said in a press release.

“The platform can be used to verify information, prevent the spread of misinformation, debunk myths, and stay informed about key issues during the General Elections 2024,” the ECI stated.

“Stakeholders are urged to verify any questionable information they come across through multiple channels using the resources available in the register,” it added.
