Finland President Alexander Stubb to visit India from March 4

Finland President Alexander Stubb will undertake a State Visit to India from March 4 to 7 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Stubb will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Ministers, senior officials and business leaders. He will be the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at the 11th Raisina Dialogue, 2026 in New Delhi. This will be his first visit to India in his present capacity.

The MEA said that PM Modi and Stubb are scheduled to hold wide-ranging discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across a wide spectrum of areas. They will also exchange perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in multilateral fora. PM Modi will host a lunch in the honour of Stubb.

Stubb will meet President Droupadi Murmu, while Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar shall call on Stubb during his India visit.

Following his engagements in New Delhi, President Stubb will travel to Mumbai, where he will meet Maharashtra Governor and Chief Minister. He will also interact with Indian business leaders at an India-Finland business event and address students at the University of Mumbai.

The MEA said that India and Finland share warm, friendly and multi-faceted relations, rooted in shared democratic values. Finland is a valued partner for India in the European Union and the Nordic region.

The MEA said the visit follows the recent trip to India by Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo for the AI Impact Summit in February 2026, and it reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors and to deepen people-to-people linkages.
