As France gears up to host the Paris Olympics 2024 and the Paralympic Games, the Alliance Française network has launched a special initiative to bring the excitement of the games to Indian fans.
During the Olympic Games, from July 26 to August 11, the Alliance Française network across India, in collaboration with the Embassy of France, the four Consulates General of France in India, and the French Institute in India, will host “fan zones” open to all sports enthusiasts.
The announcement was made at a special event on “India’s Preparation for Paris 2024” held at Alliance Française de Delhi on Monday. The event was organized by the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI).
From Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram, and from Kolkata to Mumbai, each fan zone will offer live screenings of the games, particularly focusing on events featuring Indian athletes.
In addition to live screenings, participants can engage in various sports activities, including table tennis, badminton, and archery competitions.
Several contests will also be held, with winners receiving iconic Paris 2024 memorabilia as prizes. The fan zones will explore different aspects of the Olympics and sports through exhibitions, workshops, and debates. Some locations will also screen French and Indian sports movies.
