Free Balochistan Movement to protest against Pakistan’s nuclear weapons outside 10 Downing Street

The Free Balochistan Movement’s UK chapter has unveiled plans to organize a protest on May 28 outside 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister. The protest coincides with the 25th anniversary of Pakistan’s controversial nuclear tests conducted in the Chaghai region of Balochistan.

The demonstration aims to shed light on the profound and lasting ramifications of these nuclear tests on the people of Balochistan and the region’s delicate wildlife. For over two decades, the residents of Balochistan have grappled with the severe consequences of Pakistan’s nuclear ambitions, enduring significant environmental degradation and health hazards.

“Year after year, the Baloch people have shouldered the burden of Pakistan’s nuclear program,” said a representative of the Free Balochistan Movement. “It is high time the international community acknowledges and addresses the injustices inflicted upon the people of Balochistan and the environment.”

The protest seeks to urge the policymakers and world leaders to prioritize the safety and well-being of Balochistan and the global community by advocating for the removal and dismantling of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal from the region.

Organizers of the demonstration have extended an open invitation to concerned citizens and supporters worldwide to join them in their peaceful protest.
