Gandhi Jayanti marked with tributes in Riyadh; Indian Embassy organises Viksit Bharat Run

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh marked Gandhi Jayanti with tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, while also hosting a community run promoting fitness, service and participation in India’s development journey.

Ambassador Vipul paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, honouring his ideals of truth, non-violence and service. Students of the International Indian School, Riyadh, also presented two of Gandhi’s favourite devotional songs, ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ and ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’, as a tribute to his message of peace, compassion and harmony.

The Embassy also organised the ‘Viksit Bharat Run’ in Riyadh under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation”. Ambassador Vipul applauded the enthusiasm, energy and sportsmanship of the participants. He highlighted the importance of community participation and the Indian diaspora’s enduring connection with India, saying such initiatives reflected the shared aspiration of contributing to the country’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The involvement of participants and volunteers turned the event into a community-wide celebration of fitness, service and collective action.
