The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has presented a range of Artificial Intelligence-enabled governance solutions aimed at improving service delivery and inclusion among tribal communities at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
The exhibition, themed “AI for Inclusive & Empowered Tribal Communities,” highlights a digital ecosystem designed to enhance administrative efficiency, preserve cultural heritage and improve access to welfare schemes in remote tribal regions.
Aligned with the Centre’s push for technology-based inclusive governance, the Ministry said the initiatives focus on bridging linguistic and geographic barriers through community-oriented digital platforms and data-driven decision-making systems.
AI governance platforms
Among the key platforms demonstrated at the summit is Adi Vaani, an AI-powered translation and linguistic preservation system that enables text-to-text and text-to-speech translation, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and access to scheme-related information in tribal languages.
The Ministry also showcased TriBoT, a multilingual conversational chatbot designed to provide real-time information on government schemes and services and assist users in remote areas through interactive query resolution.
Another major component is the AI-enabled Forest Rights Act (FRA) Digital Platform, which streamlines claim submission, verification, GIS-based mapping, workflow monitoring and grievance redressal, aimed at improving transparency in the implementation of forest rights.
Officials said the interconnected platforms mark a shift towards predictive and responsive governance while improving outreach to vulnerable populations.
Cultural preservation through technology
The Ministry also displayed an AI-powered digital presentation of the Tribal Freedom Fighter Museums initiative. The museums are being developed as immersive knowledge centres using AI-curated archival material, projection-based storytelling and interactive audio-visual systems to document tribal contributions to India’s freedom movement.
The exhibition further includes augmented-reality cultural experiences, live translation demonstrations, chatbot interaction stations and interactive dashboards showing governance analytics.
According to the Ministry, engagement with AI practitioners at the summit will help refine and expand these interventions. The initiative reflects an effort to integrate emerging technologies with social welfare programmes to ensure last-mile delivery and institutional transparency.
The Ministry said embedding Artificial Intelligence in tribal development frameworks is intended to strengthen governance systems while promoting cultural preservation and sustainable empowerment across tribal communities.
The AI Impact Summit is currently underway at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20.
