BJP governed with integrity, Congress involved in corruption: Haryana CM Nayab Saini

Ahead of vote counting for the Haryana assembly elections, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed confidence in the BJP’s chances of securing a third consecutive term. Saini highlighted the BJP’s governance track record, accusing the Congress of widespread corruption.

“Today is the day of counting and I am confident that as a result of the works done by the BJP government in the past ten years, we will be forming the government in Haryana for the third time…Our government will continue to serve the people of Haryana. Congress works for power, BJP works for service,” Saini told reporters.

Before heading to the Saini Samaj Dharamshala in Kurukshetra to meet party workers and supporters, Saini offered prayers at the Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Temple in Brahma Sarovar. He is contesting from the Ladwa constituency in Kurukshetra district.

Vote counting began at 8 am, starting with postal ballots followed by the electronic voting machine (EVM) count. Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal said that 93 counting centers have been set up across 22 districts, with two each in Badshahpur, Gurugram, and Pataudi. Security at the centers is tight, with a three-tier system involving 12,000 police personnel and 30 companies of Central Armed Police Forces.

While the BJP remains optimistic, exit polls have predicted a Congress win.
