‘He’s a great leader….He is a special man’: What President Trump said about PM Modi during US visit

US President Donald Trump praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “great leader,” lauding his impactful leadership in India and global stature. He also acknowledged PM Modi’s sharp negotiation skills, admitting that he was a tougher and more effective negotiator than himself.

Welcoming Prime Minister Modi with a warm hug at the White House, President Trump said, “We missed you a lot.” In his book, ‘Our Journey Together’, Trump penned a message for PM Modi, calling him “great” and praising his leadership. He lauded the prime minister’s governance, saying that he was doing a fantastic job in India and that people around the world were talking about him.

Calling him a special man, Trump expressed his excitement about welcoming his friend PM Modi to the White House, emphasizing their long-standing friendship.

As PM Modi arrived at the White House on Thursday, Trump reiterated that the two leaders and their nations shared “great unity and great friendship,” stressing the importance of staying united. During their discussions, Trump highlighted that ties between the two countries would continue to grow stronger.

PM Modi expressed his delight at seeing Trump back at the White House for a second term and conveyed confidence that India and the US would continue advancing their strategic partnership with the same bond, trust, and enthusiasm. He also mentioned that the people of India had given him the opportunity to serve a third consecutive term, a feat that had not happened in 60 years.
