The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has cancelled the Class 12 English exam for the March 2025 session across all centres in the state following reports of a possible paper leak.
The issue came to light at a Government Senior Secondary School in Chowari, Chamba district, where teachers inadvertently opened the Class 12 English question paper instead of the Class 10 paper. The Board received anonymous complaints on March 7 via the “Exam Mitra App,” alleging that the paper had been accessed before the scheduled date and time.
Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Secretary Vishal Sharma said on Friday that the Board took the matter seriously.
Exercising powers under Section 2.1.2 of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Examination Regulations, 1993 (amended up to July 2017), the Board’s chairman ordered the immediate cancellation of the exam across the state.
The “Exam Mitra App” was introduced for the first time during this examination session to enhance monitoring and ensure transparency.
