Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday extended warm greetings to personnel of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on the occasion of its Raising Day.

In a post on X, HM Shah said, “Warm greetings to NCB personnel on their Raising Day. A premier agency dedicated to shielding our youth from drugs, NCB shoulders responsibility with deftness and is advancing Modi Ji’s vision of drug-free India at remarkable pace. Nation salutes their dedication and patriotism.”

Four decades of service

Marking the occasion, the NCB highlighted its journey of over four decades in tackling narcotics-related challenges. In a post on X, the agency said it has remained steadfast in dismantling drug networks, protecting communities, and strengthening national efforts against drug abuse.

Security forces extend greetings

Security forces also joined in extending greetings to the NCB personnel.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) commended the bureau for its consistent efforts in addressing drug-related challenges and contributing to national security. It noted that the NCB has been at the forefront of safeguarding communities and curbing illegal drug networks.

The Border Security Force (BSF) lauded the agency’s relentless efforts in combating drug trafficking. The force emphasised the importance of coordinated action among agencies in securing borders and building a drug-free nation.

Strengthening anti-drug fight

The NCB, established to enforce drug laws and curb trafficking, plays a critical role in India’s fight against narcotics. Its work involves intelligence gathering, inter-agency coordination, and international cooperation to dismantle organised drug networks.

The agency’s continued efforts remain crucial in addressing emerging challenges related to drug abuse and trafficking, while reinforcing the government’s broader mission of ensuring a safer and healthier society.
