I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju reviews operations of media units at Maha Kumbh

Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, on Thursday observed the work being done by various media units of the ministry at the Maha Kumbh Mela. The union secretary visited the multimedia exhibition on ‘Jan Bhagidari se Jan Kalyan’, showcasing the achievements, programs, policies, and schemes of the central government over the last 10 years at the exhibition complex on Triveni Marg in Mahakumbh.

The secretary described the exhibition as very user-friendly and highlighted the use of new technologies such as anamorphic and multimedia displays, including wall and LED TV screens, as well as a holographic cylinder. He emphasized that the exhibition provides accurate information about various government schemes to the general public.

Jaju also visited the Media Center located in the Maha Kumbh Mela area and reviewed the facilities provided to journalists there. He interacted with the journalists working at the media center’s workstations.

Earlier, the secretary visited the temporary centers of Doordarshan and Akashvani located in Sector 4 of the Maha Kumbh Mela area. He noted that through the programs broadcast by Doordarshan and Akashvani, viewers and listeners are becoming familiar with the grandeur and holy moments of the Maha Kumbh through television, mobile, and other mediums. The Secretary also mentioned that Prasar Bharati has arranged a multi-camera setup and numerous live programs.

Jaju said that information is being disseminated to the public via the special FM channel Kumbhvani, and the FM radio broadcast has been integrated with the public address system of the Maha Kumbh, benefiting the devotees. The union secretary also held a review meeting with officials of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting working in the Maha Kumbh Mela area, providing necessary instructions.

The I&B secretary remarked that everyone is contributing to the success of this special Maha Kumbh, which is being held after 144 years. He said that devotees from all over the country come to the Maha Kumbh to pray for peace, putting aside all differences. Shri Jaju noted that the Maha Kumbh plays a significant role in preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage and legacy.

During his visit, Jaju also toured the Publications Division’s stall, where he fondly recalled memories from his childhood upon seeing the ‘Bal Bharti’ magazine and expressed his appreciation for its continued publication.
