Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland has achieved a new career-high in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings, rising to fourth place following her standout performance in the second T20I against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui. Sutherland’s impressive spell of 4 for 8 played a key role in Australia’s dominant 82-run victory, securing an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
Sutherland’s impactful display has earned her 729 rating points, placing her just behind India’s Deepti Sharma, who holds third place with 737 points. At only 22 years old, Sutherland’s rise reflects her growing influence in the game, especially after her crucial four-wicket haul helped restrict New Zealand to 122 runs.
Her fellow Australian, pacer Darcie Brown, also made significant progress, climbing 12 places to reach the 18th position in the rankings with 643 points, following her consistent performances of 1-22 and 2-23 in the series. England’s Sophie Ecclestone remains the top-ranked bowler.
In the batting rankings, Australia’s Beth Mooney reinforced her position as the No. 1 T20I batter, thanks to consecutive match-winning scores of 75* and 70. Tahlia McGrath, another Australian star, held onto second place, while India’s Smriti Mandhana remained firm at No. 3.
Emerging Australian batter Phoebe Litchfield also made strides, climbing three places to 22nd after her valuable contribution of 32 runs in the second T20I. The top 10 rankings saw minimal changes, with West Indies’ Deandra Dottin, India’s Harmanpreet Kaur, and England’s Danni Wyatt sharing the 10th spot with 628 points.
Despite New Zealand’s struggles in the series, their players saw some gains. All-rounder Melie Kerr rose two spots to 17th in the batting rankings after her fighting knock of 40, while Georgia Plimmer surged 20 places to break into the top 50.
In the all-rounder rankings, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews continues to lead, with Kerr in second. Australia’s McGrath climbed three places to 18th, and Sutherland moved up to 21st, further highlighting Australia’s dominance in both individual and team performances on the global stage.
