IMD forecasts severe heatwave conditions over East India for next five days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are expected to persist over East India and parts of south Peninsular India for the next five days.

The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms or lightning and gusty winds at isolated places over Northeast India on April 23 and 24.

According to IMD, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall between April 23 and 29 due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Further, Arunachal Pradesh is very likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall on April 23, 24 and 27.
