The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual drop in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C across Northwest India over the next three days, with stable conditions expected afterward. In other parts of the country, no significant change in minimum temperatures is anticipated over the next four to five days.
Maximum temperatures in Northwest India are likely to increase gradually by 2-4°C over the next four days before stabilizing. In Gujarat, no major changes are expected over the next three days, followed by a gradual rise of 2-3°C over the subsequent two days. Other regions of the country are not expected to see any notable changes in maximum temperatures during this period.
An active Western Disturbance is predicted to bring widespread rainfall and snowfall to Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh from February 25 to 27. Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience similar conditions on February 26 and 27, while Uttarakhand may witness rainfall and snowfall on February 27. Additionally, East India is expected to see isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms on February 22 and 23.
Recent weather observations indicate light to moderate rainfall and snowfall at most locations in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad. Punjab experienced light to moderate rainfall at most places, while Gangetic West Bengal saw rainfall at many locations. Rainfall was reported at a few places in Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, North Odisha, and Arunachal Pradesh, with isolated rainfall in Northeast Uttar Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Assam, and Meghalaya.
Heavy rainfall was observed in isolated areas of Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. Hailstorms occurred in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, and North Interior Odisha. Gusty winds were reported in isolated locations across Gangetic West Bengal, Punjab, and Haryana. Thunderstorms with lightning were observed in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh.
