India aims to lead world across sectors by 2047: Amit Shah

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that the Narendra Modi-led government has set an ambitious target for India to emerge as the world’s leading nation across all sectors by 2047, when the country marks 100 years of Independence.

Addressing the CREDAI National Conclave in the national capital, Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned an India that ranks first globally in every field by the centenary year of Independence.

The Home Minister highlighted that significant progress has been made over the past 11 years in building next-generation infrastructure. He said flagship initiatives such as the National Infrastructure Pipeline, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, and Parvatmala have strengthened urban development and created a roadmap to position India among countries with the best infrastructure in the world.

Shah said these initiatives have laid a strong foundation for economic growth and improved connectivity across regions, contributing to India’s long-term development goals.

The Home Minister also said the central government is pursuing a forward-looking approach to urban development under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, with a strong focus on responsible and sustainable real estate growth. He called upon developers and industry bodies, including CREDAI, to work collectively towards responsible development practices.

Stressing the role of collaboration, Shah said that industry participation is crucial in realising the government’s vision for sustainable urban expansion and infrastructure-led growth.
