India and Argentina hold 7th round of Foreign Office Consultations in Buenos Aires

The 7th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOCs) between India and Argentina was held on September 13 in Buenos Aires, co-chaired by Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East) from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and  Leopoldo Francisco Sahores, Argentina’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs. The previous round of FOCs took place in November 2021 in New Delhi.

During the consultations, both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on a wide range of bilateral issues. These included political, trade, and economic relations, with a particular focus on key sectors like healthcare and pharmaceuticals, energy, mining, defence, railways, nuclear energy, space, agriculture, culture, and consular matters.

The two delegations also exchanged views on various regional and global issues of common interest, underscoring the shared vision and cooperation between the two countries.

In addition to reviewing their ongoing partnership, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties through the exchange of high-level visits.

They agreed to hold the next round of FOCs in New Delhi at a mutually convenient date. The consultations also served as a prelude to the forthcoming visit of the Argentine Minister of Foreign Affairs to India, setting the stage for further deepening of ties between the two nations.
