India denies visa ban on Bangladeshi student leaders, shuts down ‘fake news’ claims

The Indian government has strongly denied media reports claiming a visa ban on six Bangladeshi student leaders, calling the news ‘fake’. These reports, published in a section of the Bangladeshi media, claimed that India had taken action against the student leaders for allegedly inciting anti-India sentiments. However, officials sources in India have dismissed these claims as false and baseless.

Indian officials stated that there is no such ban on the student leaders, labeling the reports as ‘fake news’. The reports also mentioned the names of six student leaders who were supposedly banned from entering India, but Indian authorities have refuted these claims and assured that there is no visa ban in place.

This comes amidst ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh, which began with a student-led resistance movement in July and ultimately led to the fall of the government. The Indian government’s clarification serves as a reminder to always verify news from multiple sources before believing and spreading it. By, Hindusthan Samachar
