India leads medal tally at World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025 in New Delhi

India continues to lead at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025 in New Delhi, with an impressive medal tally of 95 by the end of Day 2. The total includes 33 gold, 29 silver, and 33 bronze medals, as per a press release from the Para Sports Federation of India (PCI). The Neutral Para Athletes stand in second place with 26 medals, while Uzbekistan holds third place with 4 golds, 4 silvers, and 4 bronze medals.

As the final day of competition draws near, India’s athletes are poised to add more medals to the country’s already impressive count. Among the athletes competing on the last day is Preeti Pal, who secured a silver medal earlier in the competition. She will now compete in the 200m T38 event, hoping to claim another medal. Ravi Rangoli will take part in the Shot Put F41 category, continuing his strong performances from previous national championships. Ankur Dhama, a seasoned para-athlete and Arjuna Awardee, will participate in the 5000m T12 race. Dhama has represented India in multiple Paralympic Games and is known for his prowess in long-distance events.

Kashish Lakra, an Asian Para Games medallist, will compete in the Discus Throw F53 event, while Pranab Prashant Desai, a medal winner at the Asian Youth Para Games, will compete in the 200m T64 sprint. Balaji Rajendran, known for his powerful throws, will participate in the Shot Put F11 event. Abhishek B Jadhav, a bronze medallist at the Nationals, will run in the 200m T35 event, aiming for another strong performance.

The final day will also feature the renowned para-athlete Vanessa Low, who will compete in the Women’s Long Jump events for T38, T44, T61, and T64 categories. Low is a two-time Paralympic medallist and world record holder, and her presence adds global star power to the competition.

With a strong lineup of Indian athletes and international icons like Vanessa Low, the final day of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025 promises to be an exciting and competitive conclusion.
