The Indian Armed Forces conducted a tri-service integrated multi-domain exercise, Prachand Prahar, in the high-altitude terrain of the Himalayas along the Northern Borders in Arunachal Pradesh. The three-day exercise, held from March 25 to 27, focused on coordinated operations involving the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
The exercise began with the deployment of advanced surveillance assets from all three services, including long-range surveillance aircraft of the Indian Air Force, the maritime domain awareness aircraft of the Indian Navy, helicopters, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Space-based resources and elite Indian Army Special Forces were also mobilized to establish seamless domain awareness and detect simulated targets.
Once identified, these targets were swiftly neutralized using synchronized joint firepower. Fighter aircraft, long-range rocket systems, medium artillery, armed helicopters, swarm drones, loitering munitions, and kamikaze drones operated in an electronically contested environment to ensure precision strikes.
The exercise was reviewed by Eastern Army Commander Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari, Eastern Air Commander Air Marshal Surat Singh, and Navy Commodore Ajay Yadav. They commended the participants for their professionalism and high operational standards.
Prachand Prahar follows Exercise Poorvi Prahar, conducted in November 2024, which focused on the integrated application of aviation assets. The Eastern Army Command highlighted the exercise in a post on X, stating that the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy, demonstrated integrated multi-spectrum operational capability in the challenging mountainous terrain. The statement noted the use of long-range vectors, precision artillery, swarm drones, loitering munitions, and attack helicopters to strike multiple targets with lethal accuracy in an electronically contested environment.
The exercise validated integrated planning, command and control, and seamless execution of surveillance and firepower platforms across the three services, covering the full spectrum of conflict. It underscored the Armed Forces’ commitment to jointness, precision, and technological superiority, reinforcing India’s ability to conduct multi-domain operations with synergy and ensuring preparedness to counter emerging threats along strategic frontiers.
