Indian delegation visits Sri Lanka to boost bilateral ties and capacity building

A high-level Indian delegation led by V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, visited Sri Lanka to bolster bilateral cooperation and enhance capacity building for senior public officials.

During their two-day stay in Colombo from July 7 to 9, the delegation held strategic meetings and discussions with key Sri Lankan officials. They discussed plans for collaboration between India’s National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA), focusing on capacity-building programs.

A significant highlight of the visit was a courtesy call on Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister, Dinesh Chandra Rupasinghe Gunawardena, underscoring India’s commitment to its “Neighbors First” policy and supporting Sri Lanka’s governance reforms.

The visit resulted in a comprehensive roadmap for a five-year collaboration (2024-2028) between SLIDA and NCGG, aimed at enhancing Sri Lanka’s public service efficiency through capacity-building initiatives.
