Indian Embassy in Bahrain Marks 78th Independence Day and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day

The Indian Embassy in Bahrain celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day today with a series of events and ceremonies. Over 800 members of the Indian community gathered at the embassy premises for the flag-hoisting ceremony, presided over by Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob.

The day began with Ambassador Jacob hoisting the Indian national flag and offering flowers to honor Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. Following this, he read out the President of India’s message to the assembled crowd, highlighting the country’s achievements and future goals.

In his address, Ambassador Jacob briefed attendees on various embassy initiatives, including the “Focus State” and “Visit Embassy” programs. As part of the “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम” (A Tree in Mother’s Name) initiative, he planted a Neem sapling on the embassy grounds.The celebration also featured two photo exhibitions. One depicted key moments from the Kargil War, showcasing the heroism of Indian soldiers.

The other, commemorating Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, illustrated the tragic impact of the 1947 partition.The event underscored the vibrant Indian community in Bahrain and the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations as India celebrates 78 years of independence.
