The Indian Embassy in Kuwait observed a few minutes of silence on Friday in memory of the lives lost in the tragic fire incident in Mangaf, where 45 Indians perished.

The Indian workers were among the 49 people killed on June 12 after a fire broke out in a building housing foreign workers.

Among the deceased, 23 workers were from Kerala, seven from Tamil Nadu, three from Andhra Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, and West Bengal.

The embassy paid tribute to the victims of the fire tragedy during an event organized to celebrate the International Day of Yoga.

Several yoga trainers, enthusiasts, and members of the diplomatic corps and the Indian diaspora in Kuwait participated in the event.

This year marks the 10th International Day of Yoga, celebrated under the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.”
