Indian School Students Commemorate Garba’s UNESCO Recognition aboard India Coast Guard Ship at Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Following the inclusion of Garba on UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, students from the Indian School in Dammam organized a Garba performance on the Indian Coast Guard  Ship, ICGS SAJAG, during an onboard reception.

This recognition marks a cultural achievement for India, as Gujarat's Garba is now part of UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Garba, with its rhythmic movements, is acknowledged not only for its aesthetic value but also for its role as a unifying force, fostering social equality and community bonds.

The Coastguard Offshore Patrol Vessel Sajag made a port call at King Abdul Aziz Port, AD Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The three-day visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and enhance cooperative engagements with the Saudi Naval Forces. The cultural celebration and diplomatic engagement unfolded seamlessly during this maritime visit.
