India’s tour of South Africa: First T20I washed out without toss

The opening T20I clash between hosts South Africa and Team India in Durban was abandoned due to persistent rain on Sunday.

The first T20I of the three-match series was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m IST, but the toss was delayed indefinitely and the umpires eventually decided there was no prospect of play in the sodden coastal city.

The match was to be the first on India's all-format tour to South Africa.

The next fixture is scheduled in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) on Tuesday, followed by the final T20I in Johannesburg on Thursday.

Following these T20 fixtures, the teams will compete in three One-Day Internationals from December 17-21, followed by the Test series.

The first Test is set for December 26 in Pretoria, with the second match scheduled for January 3 at Newlands in Cape Town.
