Israeli Consul General backs Operation Sindoor, says name “touched my heart”

Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, Kobbi Shoshani, on Wednesday voiced strong support for Operation Sindoor, the precision strikes carried out by Indian armed forces on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Speaking to ANI, Shoshani reaffirmed Israel’s solidarity with India and underscored that the right to self-defence is absolute. “India has the right to self-defence. I think it’s a very clear message from India to the rest of the world,” he said.

Shoshani also praised the naming of the operation, saying, “It touched my heart. It’s a very sophisticated name — symbolic and inspiring as well.”

When asked about the potential for further escalation, the envoy said, “I don’t know, but I have to say that the message to the terrorists was very, very, very clear. India and the rest of the world will not tolerate any terrorist activities, whether in the Middle East or in India. Terrorist organisations need to know that actions like that will be met with retaliation.”
